George held his goblet towards Dream, who smiled and knocked their goblets together before taking longer sips. So let us raise a toast for a new beginning!” King Eret exclaimed, raising his goblet, everyone in the grand hall following his lead. “Of course they’re serving the best of the best tonight,” he hummed, Dream agreeing quietly behind him. George just rolled his eyes and took a small sip of the wine. Nothing usually happened but it was a habit the two were used to and didn’t think much of. Like he always did, as soon as the servant was gone, Dream took George’s goblet out of his hand and replaced it with his own. One servant approached George and Dream, handing them theirs. Servants started to distribute goblets with wine among the guests while King Eret still spoke, for the final toast of the night. How they could assist each other in the future. He agreed with Schlatt and then went on to speak about all the new things they could accomplish together. George had no problem with that, even though he otherwise didn’t really like the way Schlatt talked, since Tubbo seemed like a smart and nice kid. About creating a new better world for the next generation, during which he referred to his son and George, to them possibly working together to ensure that. Schlatt started, talking about how glad he was to work together for the first time in decades instead of fighting. It was a usual effect Dream had on him, especially when he was being so considerate of George.įinally, King Eret and King Schlatt addressed everyone present with their last speeches of the night. The party is almost over anyway,” George answered, hating how his face felt warm. “You alright your highness?” Dream asked. Few golden jewellery pieces he wore brought his light green eyes out more as if they were jewells themselves. His blond hair was combed back, a few strands framing his face. Dream looked too good in his white dress shirt, green cloak on his shoulders and tight brown pants tucked neatly into his boots. Shaking his head, George had to turn away. “ Dream ,” George warned, turning to glare at him.ĭream just gave him an innocent smile, making George’s heart melt.

“I mean come on, I’d start a war if that would make him stop making bad outfit choices.” George snorted, hiding it behind a cough against his arm.

“No, why?” George asked, deciding to go along with Dream’s antics for now. “Oh come on, his hearing is shit,” Dream chuckled. “Shut up Dream, he might hear you!” George hissed, but the corner of his mouth was twitching up. George elbowed the knight’s side, mouth a thin line as he tried not to laugh. “Wow, you’d think Lord Midfield would’ve learned from the last ball. Which definitely would have been inappropriate. Dream’s presence was reassuring and the knight’s quiet remarks about their guests were threatening to make the Prince laugh. Only thing keeping George from just leaving was his knight standing right behind him. How the other people found them entertaining, he had no idea. Attending these kinds of events was never fun. The young boy was barely 15 as far as George knew and he felt bad for him. Prince Tubbo stood next to his father, looking just as bored as George felt, wearing a black suit that matched his father’s. After years of tension and occasional battles, they finally managed to form an agreement. Both were smiling but George could tell that both of them were faking it for the sake of the fragile peace between them. George watched his older brother, King Eret of Kinoko, chat with King Schlatt of Manburg. Whose son ran away with whose or whose daughter beat someone in a duel. George would have prefered to hear the music rather than all the gossip. The music from the orchestra was nearly drowned under the chatter of people. Decorative banners and ribbons were hanging from the ceiling and on the walls in both kingdoms’ colours. Different kinds of exotic and fancy foods filled the tables at the side of the hall, people standing near them and chatting with fake smiles on their faces as if they weren’t on the brink of war only a few weeks ago. The grand hall was packed with people, knights, nobles and royalty from both kingdoms, drinking and dancing. George knew this celebration of peace between Kinoko and Manburg was important but he couldn’t help it that he was bored to death.
